Internship Opportunities at Lul

 

Lul Theater offers a wide range of internship opportunities in its Artistic, Administrative and Production departments. These positions are competitive and selection will be made after an evaluation process which includes an application, interview. Upon selection, interns will be required to work for a minimum of three full days per week. Typically, the work load will be strictly in the department that they applied for. However, these positions are designed to expose the intern in all aspect of the theater experience and on occasion s/he will be expected to work in other departments.

Lul interns will be granted complementary admittance to opening and closing night performances, and private receptions. Other obligations may include assisting during dress and technical rehearsals, administrative and management duties as well as tasks during workshop and conferences.
Internship positions are available in the following departments:


Artistic Interns – work directly under the assistant director(s) and closely with the artistic team.  Help to coordinate auditions, readings and provide general administrative support to the Artistic department. Interns will participate in weekly department meetings and other related duties.


 Administrative Interns
– work directly under the administrative assistant(s) and the office staff. Duties will include, preparation of Press release, development of season tickets holders, special event planning, preparing invitations and promotional posters, research, data entry, filing, web up-dates, and provide general administrative support to the Marketing department.

Lectures and Visiting Guests

Lul is committed to expanding the limits of the arts. To this end, it will strive to create a forum whereby aspiring Ethiopian artists as well as professionals could come together with professional artists from around the world. This venue  will facilitate the opportunity to learn, share ideas and collaborate. Lul will organize regular lectures and workshops which will be open to the public.

Currently, Lul is negotiating a plan to host its first Artist in Residence, Thomas Riccio Professor of Performance studies school of Arts and Humanities at University of Texas at Dallas. We will update this information as it becomes available.
